New Edubase Magistrate Court in the Adansi South District of Ashanti Region has sentenced a pastor to nine months imprisonment on a charge of fraud.

Pastor George Kojo Appiah popularly known as “Agyegon of Light of Heaven international church at New Edubase was said to have collected GHC 37,000.00 from four persons with the view of sending them overseas.

ASP Francis Ankah, New Edubiase District Police Commander said the pastor in August 2014 collected the said money and bolted till he was recently spotted and arrested.

His Lordship Stanislaus Amaniopo after the accused had pleaded guilty, sentenced him to nine months in prison with hard labour.

The judge also pronounced that the pastor pays back the money after the sentence.
