The first matriculation ceremony of all three-year groups offering various certificate courses at the Nursing and Midwifery Training College at Odumase-Krobo in the Eastern region was held on Friday, 10th November, 2017.
About 480 students were matriculated during the beautiful ceremony performed at the Laasi Park at Odumase.
Following the ceremony, all students had their festive lunch together and enjoyed the tour of the school premises.

The ceremony marked the formal admission of the students to the Training College and their studies. The event was an opportunity for all three-year students to be welcomed by the senior staff in the college, fellow students and the general host community.
Madam Marcelina Teni Kwose – Nurse and Principal of the Nursing and Midwifery Training College Odumase-Krobo encouraged the students to take advantage of all the opportunities provided by the school.
She also gave inspiring speeches to the new students, including detailing the opportunities available to them at the college, highlighting student initiatives and setting expectations of what students can expect from the school and the vice versa.
The ceremony marks the start of their education and provides the perfect mirror to the end of their studies in the form of their graduation ceremony. It is not only a positive and enjoyable celebration of their achievement of reaching a nursing training college but serves as a more formal welcome to the Krobo community.
Some dignitaries who graced the occasion included: representatives from the Ministry of Health, the office of the Municipal Chief Executive of Lower Manya Krobo and the Ghana Education service. Others included the Founder of the Narh Bita Hospital, traditional rulers and Principals of other Health Colleges.
About the Nursing and Midwifery Training College:
The Nursing and Midwifery Training College, Odumase – Krobo College is a government- funded institution established in 2015 through the initiative of Dr. Nuettey, a native of Odumase –Krobo.
The first batch of students enrolled constituted of 163 students including 21 males and 142 females. The second batch also saw 220 students being enrolled into the college while 102 students were enrolled, bringing the total number of students to 485.
The college had it first location in a private property but currently been hosted by the Manya Klo Foundation awaiting relocation to its permanent site in Odumase.
The school boasts a vibrant learning environment attracting aspiring health workers while its commitment to educating students for the needs of professional life attracts high quality students from within the eastern region and around the country.
