A Ghanaian film producer Emmanuel Okyere Mensah after producing and directing movies like Aka Me Last, U-10, Ghost In Chains, Shadow of Sin, RedRose and many more has said in an interview that none of his new movies will be on sale on vcds.

Asking for his reasons, the 33 year old producer who studied English Literature at the Berekum Teacher’s training college and then Multimedia Communication Design at the knust said he can’t make a movie in HD format and then reduce it to a poor quality VCD format. ‘The world has changed and our viewers deserve to see good pictures’.

He continued that today, most Ghanaians own 4k Tv sets and it will be odd to present a VCD format movie to them. At least an HD will do.

He further stated that there are no better marketers for VCDs. Most of the few left will not market any movie that does not star Lil Win. Then after marketing, it becomes difficult for the marketers to give back to the producer what is due him.

For these reasons, he makes his movies Exclusively for the youtube channel, ‘Mynewsghana Tv’ and then some few Tv stations.
Talking about his latest movies, he mentioned that his new trend of movies draw their themes from social and religious issues.

Red Rose, he said is about a couple trying to share responsibilities in the matrimonial home and the rights of the modern day woman.

It’s also about sexual pleasures and infidelity in marriage and the spread of HIV. He disclosed that his much awaited movie REDROSE, will be online in November 2017 in four parts with each part having a runtime of 30 minutes.
