A lot of people were thrown into astonishment seeing a beauty queen, Christiana Naa Kai Mensah who won the Face of Teens Ghana 2016 pageant in the rains during an event to show love. Christiana Naa Kai Mensah the Winner of Face of Teens Ghana 2016 on Saturday 10th of June 2017 joined the Love Foundation Club members to show love to kids living on the streets of Accra. The event which was dubbed ‘THE STREETS MATTER’ was a commemoration of one year anniversary of the youth charity club and was attended by some other promising young celebrities such as the acapella singers of the club who sing for charity.
Though the weather seemed unfriendly from morning due to the rain, the hardworking members of the club and the invited personalities who are dedicated to charity made it through to be there. The rain though delayed the program never stopped it from happening. Marcus Anafu the CEO of the foundation was seen together with all the members who were present helping arrange the grounds for the event.
Arriving at Graphic Road, the area popularly known to be “where the street kids live” or “where the railway is” or sometimes “where fitters are” around 11:00am, the team met with the elders of the community. They presented an in-depth information about Love Foundation Club and their mission.
With expressed joys, canopies were arranged and an announcement which went viral got all the street kids together with some parents. After a prayer to commence the event, Madam Lucia Anafu, a student nurse and a pharmacist and a member of the club gave a lecture on malaria, its dangers and measures to prevent it. Mr. Mawuli who is the CEO of Elirant Foundation who also partnered with LFC ignited the zeal of the people and gave them a deep message of hope for the future in a short sermon.
The team then distributed treated mosquito nets and among the people. Christiana Naa Kai Mensah headed the distribution of some snacks sponsored by Popcorn Crew to the kids. There was also a distribution of some clothing to the people especially the kids. A heart call was made to all youth groups and individuals, institutions and corporate bodies to support the Love Foundation Club to carry on their vision of eradicating poverty and streetism among us.
